Shipping restrictions
We ship within the continental United States. We do not currently ship internationally. A small number of items are flagged as restricted and will be blocked at checkout if your shipping state appears on the list. The list for each item is printed on its product page and repeated below.

If your order is blocked, you will see the reason at checkout before any payment is taken. Nothing is charged for an order we cannot fulfil.
Returns & refunds
You have 30 days from delivery to return any unused, unopened item for a full refund of the purchase price. There is no restocking fee.
For hygiene and safety reasons we cannot accept returns on items that have been discharged, opened, or used — this includes pepper spray canisters whose seal has been broken and alarms that have been activated. Faulty items are always covered: if a product fails within its stated warranty period, contact us and we will replace it.
To start a return, email [email protected] with your order number. We will send a prepaid label for defective items; for change-of-mind returns, return shipping is the customer's responsibility.
Safety & training
A defensive tool is not a substitute for awareness, distance, and de-escalation. In most encounters the best outcome is leaving — a tool exists to buy you the seconds you need to do that.
Before you carry anything you buy here:
- Read the manufacturer's instructions end to end, including storage temperature limits.
- Practise deploying it with the included inert training unit, or with an unloaded spare.
- Know how your local law defines the item, and whether you may carry it in the places you go.
- Take a certified self-defence or pepper spray course. Practical, hands-on training beats reading.
- Never deploy a spray into wind, into a confined space with people behind you, or on anyone who is not a threat.
Keep all products out of the reach of children. Do not modify any product — modifications void the warranty and can make a device unsafe.
About RIFTGUARD
RIFTGUARD is an independent US retailer of non-lethal personal protection equipment. We hold our own inventory, we buy direct from manufacturers, and we publish measurable performance numbers — range in feet, output in lumens and candela, volume in decibels — instead of marketing adjectives.
We do not operate a marketplace, and we do not drop-ship from overseas warehouses. Orders placed before 2pm ET ship the same business day from our facility in Delaware.
Privacy policy
We collect the minimum information needed to fulfil an order and run an account: your name, email address, shipping address, phone number if you provide one, and your order history.
Payment data. Card numbers are entered on our payment provider's hosted checkout and never reach our servers. We store only a transaction reference returned by the provider.
Cookies. We set one essential session cookie so you can stay signed in. We do not sell your personal information to anyone, and we do not run third-party advertising trackers on this site out of the box.
Your rights. Email [email protected] to request a copy of your data or ask us to delete your account. We will action verified requests within 30 days.
Retention. Order records are retained for as long as tax and consumer-protection law requires. Marketing subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe.
Terms of service
By ordering from RIFTGUARD you confirm that you are at least 18 years old, that the items you order are legal to purchase, possess and carry where you live, and that you will use them lawfully and only in self-defence.
You accept full responsibility for the safe storage, handling and use of any product purchased here. RIFTGUARD is not liable for injury, loss or legal consequence arising from misuse, unlawful use, or use contrary to the manufacturer's instructions.
Prices, availability, specifications and promotions may change without notice. Where a price is listed in error we will contact you before fulfilling the order rather than charging the incorrect amount. Product descriptions and images are illustrative; where a specification and a photograph disagree, the written specification governs.
Deliveries are subject to carrier performance and cannot be guaranteed to a specific date. Risk passes on delivery to the address you provide.
